The B.E.S.T. Way to Reestablish the Body's Healing Potential

person on beach with arms outstretchedBio Energetic Synchronization Technique (B.E.S.T.) is based on chiropractic principles and neurology, using a light force technique that aligns the brain and body, allowing the body to function efficiently and heal. This method was developed by a chiropractor, Dr. M.T. Morter Jr., whose mission was to improve the health and wellness of people worldwide.

Experiencing the Effects

Dr. Carla was introduced to this gentle method when she became a client of a friend who practiced B.E.S.T. out of her home.

“It was so effective for me; I had seen chiropractors and done different things with my diet, but I had never had anyone work
on the impact that early traumas, such as my parents’ divorce and being bullied in school, had on my physical body,” she said.

How Does It Work?

“We use a light touch, a breathing pattern, and an eye position to help retime your nervous system so it’s not reacting to past experiences, accidents, traumas, and things in the future you might be worrying about,” said Dr. Carla.

You might not consciously have a memory, but your body was present, and it has a memory that there was maybe a threat. Or perhaps something frightening happened to you, and your body holds that tension pattern in your system. With B.E.S.T., we can identify those patterns and release them, which brings your body out of a “fight or flight” state and allows more time for “resting and digesting.”  This state is where your body has the optimal conditions for healing.

One person can have an experience, and it doesn’t bother them, and they don’t have a reaction. But for another person, they do. Here’s an example Dr. Carla often shares:

Let’s say you were 2 or 3 years old and learned how to draw. When you draw on the paper, everyone’s excited. Then one day you’re alone in the dining room, and there’s this big white piece of paper called The Wall. You have some markers and you think, “I’m going to draw a big picture, and everyone will be so happy and proud because they were so happy when I drew the last time.”

Then, Mom walks in and sees the drawings all over the wall. All of a sudden, she’s yelling and maybe even spanking you. Your nervous system does not know how to judge what happened, and you’re thinking that now you shouldn’t be too creative, get too happy, or be joyful because something bad’s going to happen.

That’s how little patterns like that get made throughout our lives. When we’re under significant stress, the nervous system needs to react quickly and often defaults to old patterns that were made to protect us in the past. B.E.S.T. helps clear the way for new patterns, more appropriate for our current stresses, to be established.

Other Issues That Can Be Addressed

Pain and other chronic conditions often have a cause associated with a type of stress. B.E.S.T. works to get to the cause of the stress and change how the body reacts. For example, those with knee or back pain may go from doctor to doctor, and try different chiropractors, and various medications, but don’t get results.

The physical problem is unable to be resolved because that subconscious memory keeps putting them in the same fight or flight pattern that keeps aggravating that joint or that tissue. With B.E.S.T., we can reset the nervous system so that chooses a more efficient response, which frees up energy and resources for the body to heal.

Digestive issues can also be helped with this method because when you’re in “fight or flight”, your digestion shuts down. So having a gentle way to release that tension can make a significant difference for people with digestive issues and also autoimmune conditions.
