How Orthotics Can Help You

Teal tennis shoe bottomsYou’ve probably heard that orthotics are helpful for people dealing with foot pain. But did you know that they can also help people who stand or sit for long periods of time at work?

In this blog post, we’ll explore how custom orthotics can help relieve pain and improve energy levels for people who work on their feet all day.

Recently, we helped a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who spent eight to ten hours a day on her feet, which caused her legs, calves, and hamstrings to become tight and sore. Even on her day off, she found it challenging to recover because her legs hurt all the time. We fitted her with a pair of full-size insole orthotics from Foot Levelers and combined them with regular chiropractic care. As a result, she was able to recover more quickly on her day off and had more energy to do the things she wanted to do, rather than just being in pain the whole time.

Going Beyond Standing

Do you work a desk job? Orthotics aren’t just for people who stand all day-lately, we’ve helped a number of patients who over-sit, too. Even if you sit all day at your job, you can experience muscle fatigue and tightness in your lower body. Having proper arch supports can help relieve this issue and make walking more comfortable. If you have high arches, you’re even more susceptible to pain when walking or standing for long periods.

The Benefits of Custom Orthotics

Custom orthotics are designed to fit the unique contours of your feet, providing the support and stability you need to maintain proper alignment while standing or walking. They can help reduce strain on your muscles and joints, making it easier for you to move around and stay active. These inserts may also help prevent future injuries or complications by promoting healthy alignment and reducing the risk of falls or sprains.
